ANOTHER CHALLENGING FRIDAY

Team FELO GRESINI MotoE faced another uphill start at Assen, with both riders unable to secure the direct seed to Q2 after free practice. Forced to go through qualifying one, Matteo Ferrari did all he could to finish in the top two, but with a time of 1’40.293 he only managed to finish fifth in that session. He will line up on the grid tomorrow in thirteenth place, ready for two comeback races on the track where only one year ago he scored a double win.

It was an underwhelming day also for Alessio Finello, who struggled to get up to speed in Q1. With a time of 1’41.013, he finished qualifying in fourteenth place: he will line up alongside his teammate with his goal being the top ten.

13th – MATTEO FERRARI #11 (1’40.293)

“It was a challenging day: there was a small improvement between FP2 and qualifying, but it wasn’t enough to make it into Q2; we’re trying to find the right direction, little by little. We’re starting from the back tomorrow but we’re ready for two comeback races.”

14th – ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (1’41.013s)

“It was quite the tough Friday: the first session went quite well, then in FP2 I started to struggle a little. I improved compared to last year but it’s not enough anymore, I want to aim at the top ten. I will start tomorrow’s two races from fourteenth place on the grid: I’ll try my best to perform well but it won’t be easy as we’re far from the frontrunners. We’ll try to work in order to narrow the gap down and find a solution in order to stay with the leading group. We keep believing, we’ll do our best tomorrow.”
