BOTH QJMOTOR GRESINI RIDERS ON THE SECOND ROW ALSO AT BARCELONA

Team QJMOTOR Gresini Moto2 had a solid performance by both their riders at Montmeló today after what was an up-and-down Friday. After securing the direct seed to Q2, they showed great speed in qualifying, too. Albert Arenas was fifth at the end of Saturday’s final session with a lap-time of 1’42.309secs, with his teammate Manuel Gonzalez behind him and only 16 thousandths of a second away in sixth. They will both line up on the second row of the grid tomorrow for the sixth Moto2 race of the season, which will be contested over a 21-lap distance.

5th – ALBERT ARENAS #75 (1’42.309)

We made a step today: I gave it all in qualifying as I wanted to secure a spot on the front row at all costs. Unfortunately we didn’t achieve our goal, but fifth is still a good place where to start. We did a good job during the weekend so far and we’ll keep doing the same today. I’m confident and I’ll do my best tomorrow!”

6th – MANUEL GONZALEZ #18 (1’42.325)

I’m not fully happy, but I can’t say it was a bad day either. We worked on the bike and we improved a lot with regards to the race pace. I struggled a bit to set a competitive lap time in qualifying and put together the perfect lap, but we’re on row two which is something very important if we want to stay with the leading group in the early stages and manage tyre wear until the end.”
