GONZALEZ BACK ON THE PODIUM WITH A SECOND-PLACE FINISH AT MUGELLO
In what was a shortened, 12-lap race, there was no room for strategy. And that is exactly the approach taken by Manuel Gonzalez, who put himself to the chase of the leading group from fourth place on the grid. He put together a spectacular race and battled for the win up to the chequered flag as he missed out on the top step of the podium for only 0.067secs. He then made his way on the second step of the podium, ready to celebrate with the whole squad a very positive outcome at what was the home round for team QJMOTOR GRESINI Moto2
It was a weekend to draw a line on for Albert Arenas, who could not find a set-up good enough for him to be competitive and quick at this track. From twenty-fourth place on the grid, he managed to make up a few positions and to finish nineteenth. Now there is a few weeks’ break ahead in order to reset and get ready for Assen the best possible way.

“I’m very happy with this second place after what was a complete weekend in terms of work done, which allowed us to score good results both in practice and qualifying – as well as obviously in the race. It was a really positive weekend: we got confirmation that we can be competitive at every track and that the podium is within reach at each event.
