TEAM FEDERAL OIL RETURNS TO SPAIN FOR THE NINTH ROUND
The last stop of three back-to-back rounds will be this weekend in Barcelona, Spain, at the Montmeló track, with Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 looking for confirmations with its riders Nicolò Bulega and Edgar Pons.
The Spanish rider, who will race on a track he knows well, is looking forward to continuing his learning curve in the class. His last outing brought some fresh confidence and the feeling with the bike seems to be improving after each outing. For the #11 Italian will be the chance to make a big definitive step to battle with the Moto2 elite, on a track that already saw him in the top five in Moto3 in 2016.
Moto2 action will get underway at 10:55 local time (GMT +2) for the opening free practice session of the #CatalanGP.
NICOLÒ BULEGA #11
“We’re improving and finding the right feeling with the bike thanks to a set-up which fits my riding style better and better. We would like to do continue this way at Barcelona, a track that I like a lot and on which I did always quite well in the past – so this round comes at the right moment. We would like to keep growing to wrap up this tripleheader on a high note.”
EDGAR PONS #57
“We’re coming from not so great races even though there was an improvement in Misano last Sunday. We’re improving by little steps, which is something kind of normal in a category that sees 20 riders in one second. Barcelona will be a completely different GP as I know Montmeló well even though I haven’t raced there in the last three years. We’ll keep working hard.”
