INDONESIAN RACING GRESINI MOTO3 SEALS Q2 ACCESS
#DohaGP Friday Free Practice. The second event of the season at Losail International Circuit got underway with a familiar script to the one witnessed a week ago for Team Indonesian Racing Gresini Moto3. Gabriel Rodrigo and Jeremy Alcoba found their way into a Q2 direct admission in a relatively easy way as they logged similar times to the ones recorded last Friday – which also led to similar positioning at the end of the day.
Once again, the quickest of the two was the Argentine rider, whose quickest lap was a 2’04.893secs – a time that places him among the contenders for tomorrow’s pole position (Q2 will begin at 17:55 and may be affected by the wind). A good performance also by Alcoba, who just like his teammate had a bit of a difficult time due to the humidity encountered on the track during FP2: this is something they will both have to work on ahead of tomorrow.
3rd – GABRIEL RODRIGO #2 (2.04.893)
“This morning we tried a different rear shock to further improve my feeling especially for the end of the race, but in the afternoon we went back to the previous solution. Our race pace is already quicker compared to last weekend, even though I must say we struggled a bit more due to the humidity in the afternoon. We’re happy with the bike, even though we can still improve a bit on fast corners.”
8th – JEREMY ALCOBA #52 (2’05.143)
“Q2 was important and must become the norm. This morning things went according to plans while in the afternoon – with the humidity – we struggled a bit too much. We have to do some work in this department because we may encounter the same type of track condition in Q2 and in the race as well, so we need to keep our heads down.”
