MUGELLO, SACHSENRING, ASSEN: THE TEAM FELO GRESINI MOTOE IS READY TO HIT THE TRACK
After the positive debut of Le Mans, the Team MotoE FELO Gresini Racing is ready to hit the track again, this time for three consecutive rounds and a total of six races: the first two in the Tuscan hills of Mugello, to later move to Germany, at the Sachsenring. The triplet will be closed by the AssenGP in the Netherlands.
With a “zero” collected in Race1 and the victory of Race2 in the first round of the MotoE world championship, we find Matteo Ferrari in third position in the general standings, with twenty points behind the first and a championship still to be played. All the cards are on the table: a Ducati with which the rider has an excellent feeling and a great potential that Ferrari has already demonstrated over the years. In 2022 in Mugello he conquered a double podium so the expectations on him are high.
A great desire to grow and improve for Alessio Finello, who has already scored more points in the first round of the championship than in the entire 2022 season: a positive debut that has given the Turin rider a lot of confidence, and he is ready to give his all at his home race, at Mugello, to later ride on a track where he has never raced before: Sachsenring. With Assen to follow, Finello will have three chances to consolidate his growth and to confirm his position in the TOP9 of the world rankings.
MATTEO FERRARI #11 (3rd in the standings with 25 points)
“I’m ready for this MotoE triplet: three weekends in a row will allow us to get more and more confident and to find the limit of the bike sooner. We will start from Mugello, our first home race of the year, I can’t wait! We have great memories there from last year, where we scored two podiums, a second place and a win, despite coming from a difficult weekend. This year, on the other hand, we come from Le Mans with another boost, a decidedly positive one. This year I want to think race by race, continue the work done so far, try to stay ahead and bring home the best result. It will certainly be challenging to face three consecutive weekends but I see it in a positive way: at the end of June we will already be halfway through the championship and we will be able to begin to have an idea of the main values for the season finale and without too many breaks we will be able to work better and stay focused! Sachsenring is also a track that I really like and where I have always brought home good results, even in the first year in MotoE I had finished in the TOP5. Then there will be Assen, another track that I really like, so there will be three beautiful races, I want to tackle them one at a time, and then we’ll see how it goes!!”
ALESSIO FINELLO #72 (9th in the standings with 12 points)
“It will be the first time for me with three consecutive weekends and I can’t wait: in addition to being three beautiful tracks, we will be able to give consistency to the work we are doing, with our minds always focused, race after race. Mugello is our home race, it will certainly be special: furthermore we come from a solid weekend in Le Mans so mentally we are positive, we are ready, I really want to do well in front of my home fans, picking up work exactly where we left it in France, to then go on to improve even more, already from FP1. Sachsenring, on the other hand, will be new for me, but I studied the layout and it looks really good, I can’t wait to race there, as well as in Assen. I’m training intensely and I’m sure that with the team, which is working really well, we will be able to surprise.”
